Requirements
A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Public Works and familiarity with a variety of field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience. Familiarity with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program. Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Ability to fluently speak, read and write the English language. Ability to plan and direct the organization of the Public Works Department. Ability to plan and direct the design of complex public works projects. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, coworkers, elected and appointed officials.
Job Description
The position is responsible for supervising public works operations and maintenance such as, repair and maintenance of all roads, sidewalks, storm water infrastructure, greenspace & irrigation, and public buildings and facilities, as well as overseeing rights-of-ways permitting and inspections, refuse collection and recycling, water and wastewater, landscaping, beach maintenance and vermin control, and fleet management.
