Requirements

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, public administration, business administration, construction, architecture, or related field is required. A minimum of seven years (7) of experience in public works or a similar field with a minimum of five (5) years of increasing engineering and managerial experience and responsibility. A valid Class E Florida driver’s license is required.

Job Description

The Public Works Director leads the department in performing the following functional duties and responsibilities: Stormwater Management, Rights -of-Way, Facility/Park Maintenence, Beach Maintenance, Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance, Transportation, Architectural/Engineering Services, Resilience and Sustainability, Emergency Response, Develop and implement department policies and procedures.
